Port Efficiency Conference - 3 Point Policy Directive Announced

At a conference under the auspices of the Presidency, His Excellency the Vice President announced a 3 point policy directive aimed at improving efficiency at the various ports. The directive is expected to take effect by 1st September, 2017.

The policy positions were as follows:

  • Joint Examination by all agencies at all ports
  • Paperless processes at ports
  • Eliminating customs internal barriers on all the transit corridors

Some of the invited panelists included Mad.Valentina Mintah - CEO,WestBlue Consulting (Ghana), Mr. Alwin Hoegerle - MD, Ghana Community Network Services Limited, Mr. Paul Ansah - Director General, Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority, Mr. Kwabena Ofosu-Appiah - National President, Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders, Mr. Isaac Crentsil - Customs Commissioner 

Mr. Kwabena Ofosu-Appiah called the engagement frank and fruitful. Writing further on twitter, he was hopeful that the conference would bring “finality to the TALK”
