Currently the Freight Forwarding Profession is one in which success is very much reliant on the ability to continually move performance to higher levels. Ours is a profession in which your achievement this year might just not be good enough to ensure your survival next year hence the need for freight forwarders to continuously update their skills through a well-proven knowledge acquisition infrastructure. This is the bedrock of successful freight forwarding. GIFF launched the Flagship journal "The Forwarder" in 2012 to achieve this objective.

The  Forwarder  journal therefore aims to become the chief forum for communicating the results of  research studies relating to the freight forwarding industry within the West African Sub region.

It will serve as a platform that will for academic reasons have the capacity to examine, and challenge  prevailing  theories and their epistemological groundings while providing space for their scholarly examination and alternatives.
